Selahattin Demirtas Accused Ankara for Downing the Russian Su-24
During his visit to Moscow Co-chairman of Turkey’s pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party Selahattin Demirtas has criticized the Ankara’s actions saying that the government should not have downed the Russian Su-24 bomber over Syrian airspace.
"We criticized the government’s actions when it downed the Russian plane," Demirtas said during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow, Sputnik News reports.
"Problems between states will always arise, but it’s necessary to leave the door open for a political and diplomatic settlement," Demirtas added.
The Kurdish leader of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Selahattin Demirtas has arrived to Moscow on December 23 to meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and seek the opening of his party's office in the Russian capital.
