A Turkish court is expected to announce its ruling in the controversial trial of Turkish Cumhuriyet Editor-in-Chief Can Dundar and the daily’s Ankara bureau chief Erdem Gul during a fourth hearing on May 6.
The journalists are on trial for "leaking state secrets" because of stories published about Turkish intelligence trucks bound for
"We’ve come a long way in this case. I think this is the end. They’ve tried everything since the beginning … Journalism is on trial here", Dundar told reporters.
The hearing is closed to the public.
