The EU High Representative Federica Mogherini expects that the European sanctions against Russia will be extended in July. Mogherini said this in an interview with Die Welt, gazeta.ru reports.
Mogherini explained her point of view with the fact that the Minsk agreement on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis has not been fully implemented. However, she stressed that the settlement of the conflict depends not only from Moscow but also from Kiev.
The head of the European diplomacy said that at the moment Russia for the EU is not a strategic partner, but a strategic country. As she explained, this means that we are talking about the so-called "selective cooperation", in which the Member Countries of the Union work with Moscow in areas, where they have common interests, such as Syria, Iran or Libya.
