Azerbaijan and the European Union (EU) resumed negotiations in the framework of the existing cooperation mechanisms, the Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev told Trend.
"It is expected that the mandate will be given to Azerbaijan closer to October, but it is still a provisional date. Regardless of this, we are resuming cooperation with the EU in the framework of the existing cooperation mechanisms," the Deputy Minister said, noting that the signing of the agreement will further enhance the level of cooperation between the two sides.
According to Mammadguliyev, in September subcommittees will begin their work and these consultations will be held, regardless of the terms of the mandate of the EU Council to start negotiations on a new agreement on strategic partnership.
