They were mainly young people saying a Trump presidency would create deep divisions along racial and gender lines.
In response to these protests Trump tweeted that the protests were "very unfair".
"Just had a very open and successful presidential election. Now professional protesters, incited by the media, are protesting. Very unfair!" he wrote.
