Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s speech was incorrectly translated during a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in Antalya, which caused misunderstanding and a scandal, ''Armenpress'' reports.
Spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova commented on the issue, saying:
''The Turkish press reports that Sergey Lavrov has announced at a press conference, as if ''The Syrian Army has carried out the attack on Turkish positions''. The Minister said the exact opposite: ''neither Russia, nor Syria have attacked Turkish positions''. Representatives of the Turkish Foreign Ministry commented on this mistake of their mass media with specificities and translation difficulties of the Turkish language.
