Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia has posted on its website the results of the votes of Armenia’s April 2 Parliamentary elections from 1886 precincts, which account for up to 88% of polling stations, Panorama.am reports.
According to these early results released as of 8:30 a.m. on Monday four political forces enter the parliament with the ruling Republican party leading with 713, 380 or 49.21% of the votes. "Tsarukyan" alliance comes the second with 396, 954 votes that constitute 27.38%. "Yelq" alliance comes the third with 111,921 or 7.72% of the votes, while the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun received 95, 515 or 6.59% of the votes.
To remind. 60,86% of the total number of the citizens eligible to vote participated in Armenian parliamentary elections on Sunday.
Other parties and blocs running in the elections had less than 4% with Armenian Renaissance party – 3.72%, "ORO" alliance - 2.08 %, "Armenian National Congress – HZhK" alliance- 1.62 %, Free Democrats - 0.93% and the Communist Party - 0.74%.
To note, under the new Electoral Code, threshold for the parties is five percent of the votes to secure representation in the parliament, while aliiances require at least seven percent.
