The Ukrainian law on changes to the Ukrainian Code of Administrative Violations regarding the ban on the production and propaganda of St. George's (Guard) ribbon was published in the parliamentary newspaper Holos Ukrainy on Wednesday, Интерфакс-Украина reports.
The law will take effect on June 15.
To note the law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on May 16, while Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed it on June 12.
According to the document, public use, demonstration, or wearing of St. George's ribbons or their images are punishable by a fine in an amount of 50 to 150 tax deductible minimal revenues of citizens with the confiscation of St. George's ribbons and objects bearing their image.
