There is nothing bad about marriages between first cousins, and it's acceptable, Nihat Hatipoğlu, a Turkish clergyman, told during a TV program, Tert.am reports, referring to Cumhurriyet.

"As for me, I am married to my cousin.  We have been married for 35 years. From a religious point of view, there is no problem with such issues. Our prophet married his dear daughter with her uncle's son’’, the clergyman replied to the question whether it is a sin to marry with uncle's daughter.
