According to the the Chinese Communist Party’s graft watchdog's statement, authorities in China punished more than 200 thousands officials for corruption from the beginning of this year, Sputnik News reports.
"In the first half of 2017 anti-corruption institutions of all ranks received a total of roughly 1.31 million reports and opened 260,000 cases on disciplinary violations. 210,000 people have been punished for breaking the code of conduct," the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) said.
As a result, 38 high-level officials from provincial administrations and ministries were brought to justice, as well as around a thousand of various managers employed by state institutions.
