Moscow and Bangkok agreed that the United Nations should play a central role in facilitating the peaceful ending of ongoing conflicts, the Russian Foreign Minister said, SputnikNews reports.
"Russia and Thailand support UN’s central role in solving regional problems, and back peaceful ways of settling conflicts and crises based on the UN Charter," Sergei Lavrov said in Bangkok.
Minister Lavrov added that during his talks with Thailand’s Foreign Minister Don Pramudwina they noted that their stances on key international problems were either close or marching.
In turn, Minister Pramudwina said they had discussed the situation in North Korea, which has been recently slapped with new economic sanctions by the United Nations over non-compliance with demands to stop its controversial ballistic missile and nuclear weapons programs.
