The recently recovered final painting of Leonardo da Vinci is about to get auctioned for at least $100 million at Christie’s in New York, Sputnik News reports.
"Salvador Mundi," or "the Savior of the World," the last of Leonardo da Vinci's paintings, will be put up for sale at Christie's auction in New York this month, and is expected to rake in at least $100 million.
The painting, nicknamed the "Male Mona Lisa" because of its similarity to the master's best-known masterpiece, is the only privately owned da Vinci work. In fact, there are fewer than 20 paintings that can be unequivocally attributed to da Vinci's hand.
