The Syrian army has taken full control of the city of Abu Kemal, which is the last stronghold of the terrorist group "Islamic State" in the country. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the commander of the armed forces.
Soldiers and officers, according to the military, began to comb the city to clear it of mines and explosive devices left by terrorists.
As the representative of the Syrian army noted, the terrorists left because of the rapid advance of government troops, as well as the advance of allied forces on the part of Hmeima in the province of Homs.
