The issue of the CSTO secretary general must be settled in a way not to harm the efficiency of the structure, Russian ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin said at a news conference today, Aysor reports.
''Russia’s position in this issue is based on the necessity to strengthen the establishment,'' the ambassador said.
He stressed that the result of the solution of the issue must be stronger organization. Necessary legal regulations should also be worked out for such like situations.
''As to the candidate for the CSTO secretary general post, it is currently being solved on the level of heads of member states,'' Kopirkin said, adding that the solution of the issue stems from the interests of all member states.
