Inter-state protocol does not intend such congratulations, Russian ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin said at a news conference today, asked why Russian president Vladimir Putin has not congratulated acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the victory at early parliamentary elections, Aysor.am reports.
"It is the issue of inter-state protocol. Such congratulations are not envisaged. Congratulations usually take place in case of appointments," the ambassador said.
As to the Armenian-Russian relations, Kopirkin said that the Russian side is ready to actively cooperate with the new leadership of Armenia.
