Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido is in the oil-rich state of Zulia, where there have been demonstrations against power outages and water shortages, Aljazeera reports.
Guaido, who is recognised by the United States and 50 other countries as Venezuela's legitimate leader, is trying to organise nationwide pr otests against President Nicolas Maduro.
His trip came as President Maduro called on more than two million army and militia members to defend his government.
