Davit Sargsyan has been elected Mayor of Stepanakert, the capital city of Artsakh, in Sunday’s local self-government elections, the preliminary results show, Panorama.am reports.
Sargsyan garnered 7,787 votes, the Central Electoral Commission of Artsakh said.
The winner is non-partisan and heads General Group company.
His four other challengers Grigory Sahakyan, Areg Avagyan, Armen Hakobyan and Arayik Avanesyan secured 4,765, 3,125, 3,059 and 2,108 votes, respectively.
A total of 21,615 eligible voters cast their ballots at Stepanakert elections.
