Parliament Factions’ Leaders Meet With Headship of Russia Peacekeepers In Artsakh
The leaders of the five parliamentary factions of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) on Tuesday met with the leadership of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Artsakh, NEWS.am has learned from the official website of Artsakh National Assembly.
The reason for this meeting was the recent statement made by advisor-envoy Maksim Seleznyov of the Russian embassy in Armenia, as well as another violation of the ceasefire by Azerbaijan at the beginning of August, and security issues.
During the meeting, those in charge of the Russian peacekeepers in Artsakh gave clarifications on the above-mentioned matters. In particular, reflecting on the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020, it was noted that the new motorway will have the legal status of a corridor, and all security components-starting from the 5km security zone to the installation of checkpoints of the Russian peacekeeping forces-will be preserved.
Touching upon the recent events, the headship of the Russian peacekeeping troops in Artsakh noted that they have made the necessary conclusions regarding the August events, and at the same time assured that they will make additional efforts to prevent similar violations in the future and ensure the proper safety of the people of Artsakh.
