Armenia National Security Service exposes new case of high treason
The National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia has found out that an officer—with the rank of a major—of military unit had come to the attention of foreign special services in July 2021, was recruited by them, and signed an agreement on collaboration with them, the NSS informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Then, after being assigned to another military unit, this officer collected military information constituting a state and service secret and transferred it to the aforesaid foreign special services.
And as payment, he received US$19,700, thereby high treason.
A criminal charge has been brought against this officer, and the court has ruled that he be remanded in custody.
The respective criminal investigation continues.
