Artsakh Human Rights Defender to hold protests outside US, French, Russian, Chinese, EU embassies in Yerevan
The Human Rights Defender of Artsakh Gegham Stepanyan has launched demonstrations outside the embassies of UN Security Council permanent members and the offices of the EU delegation in Armenia, Armenpress reports.
The protests are held “given the 4-day complete blockade of Artsakh and gas supply cut-off by Azerbaijan and the resulting humanitarian disaster in Artsakh, as well as the inadequate reaction of the international community towards Azerbaijan’s criminal conduct,” Stepanyan said.
The protests will be held outside the US Embassy at 14:00, the Chinese Embassy at 14:30, the EU delegation at 15:30, the French Embassy at 16:30 and the Russian Embassy at 17:00. Then, the demonstrators will join others outside the UN office.
“I will be at the protests to present the situation in Artsakh and demand to stand by the most important principle of universality of human rights,” Stepanyan said.
