Nikol Pashinyan: The Blockade of Lachin Corridor and the Aggressive Statements of Azerbaijan Create New Obstacles for the Peace Process
During the NA-Government Q&A Session, the deputy Davit Danielyan was interested in the problem of presenting again territorial demands towards the Republic of Armenia in the last interview by the President of Azerbaijan and tried to find out from the Prime Minister if our international colleagues and organizations have certain toolset for preventing the possible escalation or supporting us in that issue.
The international contacts show that the perception of the international community towards this situation increases: in response to the question the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted. As the Prime Minister assessed, those statements serve as certain provocation and have a goal for creating escalation.
“On the basis of Prague agreements we are ready to go for signing the peace treaty, and those statements contradict, first of all, the reached agreements,” Nikol Pashinyan said.
According to the Prime Minister, the best version of preserving the situation in the region stable is to go for its solutions through negotiations and political way.
“It is evident that the international community records that the blockade of the Lachin Corridor and the aggressive statements of Azerbaijan create new obstacles for the peace process. A question, and who said that it is not what Azerbaijan wants, and that is the very far away goal,” Nikol Pashinyan responded.
