EAEU to become one of key centers of Greater Eurasian Partnership, says Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin has urged to expand the international ties of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), including the talks on free trade with the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia, TASS reports.
In a message addressed to EAEU colleagues that was published on Monday, on the occasion of Russia’s chairmanship in the Union in 2023, Putin noted the importance of cooperation between the EAEU and external partners, as well as the positive effect of agreements with third countries on free trade. "We intend to give every assistance in completing the work that is underway, on similar agreements with Egypt, Iran and India, as well as step up new negotiation tracks, including with Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates," Putin wrote.
"The extension of the geography on international ties and contacts" of the EAEU with the Asian-Pacific, Middle Eastern, African and Latin American nations "would help increase exports of the Union’s products and build new supply chains," he said. "Our integration may play the role of one of the key centers of the Greater Eurasian Partnership formation," the president added.
