EAEU countries agree to establish traceability mechanism: Customs
Countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) have for the first time agreed upon the possibility of mutual improvement of information system for traceability of goods, press service of the Russian Federal Customs Service said after the working meeting of EAEU customs representatives in Astana on Monday, TASS reports.
"The parties for the first time recognized the need and coordinated the possibility of mutual improvement of information systems for the purpose of creating a mechanism for goods movement traceability in the EAEU. This will ensure transparency and improve efficiency of control" over lawfulness of goods movement, First Deputy Head of the Russian Customs Ruslan Davydov said.
The Kazakh party presented the "traceability passport" functionality of the national system of goods recordkeeping. The Russian party suggested also creating a data mart and adding a function of "traceability passport" retirement during control by EAEU responsible authorities. The parties expressed readiness to start working on these proposals.
