I can’t promise you that we won’t have problems, but I assure you that this is the only way: Ruben Vardanyan

Ruben Vardanyan, State Minister of the Republic of Artsakh, Head of the Operational Headquarters, visited Noragyugh, Khndzristan, Patara communities of Askeran region, had meetings with residents of the mentioned villages and neighboring settlements. The State Minister was accompanied by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of AR Suren Galstyan, MP of the "Armenian Revolutionary Federation" faction of AR's National Assembly David Ishkhanyan and Head of Askeran Regional Administration Hamlet Apresyan.

Emphasizing direct contacts with the population, Ruben Vardanyan noted that, especially in this crisis situation, providing the population with first-hand information, listening to their concerns is of primary importance from the point of view of jointly overcoming the crisis.

"I think this is the most effective form of communication in Artsakh. We indeed face great difficulties, but a lot of work is also being done to overcome them, we are trying to move forward, finding solutions to new problems that arise every day."

He presented detailed information on the current situation in the fields of food products, petrol and diesel, electricity and gas supply, other consequences of the blockade and its impact on the economy, as well as the steps taken and to be taken by the Operational Headquarters.

The State Minister noted that work is being done by all means in the direction of lifting the blockade, but, on the other hand, the Government is obliged to be ready and provide at least the minimum vital needs of the population in case of all possible scenarios.

Speaking about the reasons of the blockade, he emphasized that Azerbaijan is trying in every possible way to break the spirit of Artsakh Armenians and achieve the depopulation of Artsakh through pressure and noted that he feels proud to see the resilience of Artsakh Armenians. "We have to go through these trials for the sake of keeping Artsakh Armenian and for the protection of the right to live in dignity on our land. This is a difficult road. I can't promise that there won't be problems, but I assure you that this is the only way that will allow us to preserve our homeland."

The participants of the meetings in all three communities assured that they do not see an alternative on this path and are ready to face all difficulties for this purpose. The need to organize agricultural and spring planting works in time was also touched upon, which is also important from the point of view of food security. The State Minister noted that everything possible will be done to organize the spring planting works in time, as well as to carry out other programs aimed at the development of agriculture.
