Ankara Does Not Want a Radical Solution of the Kurdish Problem

The Turkish government shows no desire to radically solve the Kurdish problem, Kurdish politician and former member of Turkey’s parliament Osman Ozcelik gave a comment to RIA Novosti. "The Turkish government calls on Kurds to lay down their arms, claiming that bridges are being built in the Kurdish populated provinces, roads are being laid, appears TV in the Kurdish language. It seems that the government is doing everything it promised on its part to ensure the rights of the Kurdish population. But they are lying because they do not want to solve this problem radically and democratically", - said Osman Ozcelik.

According to him, there are about 30 Kurdish channels in Turkey, however, these channels have no license and work illegally. Another important problem for Kurds that cannot be solved is the education in the Kurdish language. "In the Kurdish populated provinces the Kurdish language lessons were entered but schools do not have appropriate teachers and the language training is not conducted", - noted Kurdish politician.

He said that Kurds are ready to lay down arms, but until now even the simplest demands have not been heard. Kurdish politician considers this anti-democratic approach. "In order to solve the Kurdish problem, it is necessary, first of all, to recognize that it exists", - noted Osman Ozcelik.

It should be mentioned that earlier Turkey’s Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu announced that the settlement process of the Kurdish issue has reached a crucial stage and the government hopes for a speedy end of the armed struggle. However, Kurds accused the Turkish government of inaction when solving the Kurdish issue.
