Seminar in the Parliament of Sweden Dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide
In the Parliament of Sweden a seminar titled "Forgotten Genocide 1915-1918" took place dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The seminar was attended by parliamentarians, ambassadors accredited in Stockholm, religious, social and political figures, journalists, representatives of Armenian and Assyrian communities, the Embassy of the RA in Sweden reports.
The Ambassador of Armenia to Sweden Artak Apitonyan stressed the importance of international recognition of Genocide not to repeat the lessons of history, for preventing other genocides.
"Such thinking will allow to reach a real peace in the region. For that reason it is necessary to give up the policy of denial," - he said.
