UK Election Night Difficult and Disappointing for All the Candidates

The Prime Minister David Cameron announced that though it is "too early to say" the final result, however, he hopes to govern the UK as a BBC forecast gives the Tories 329 seats - enough to form a slender majority in the House of Commons.

According to the BBC forecast, with preliminary results Conservative received 329 seats, Labour 233, the Liberal Democrats 8, the SNP 56, Plaid Cymru 3, UKIP 2, the Greens 1 and others 19.

Everybody spent a difficult night.  Scottish Labour leader Jim Murphy and shadow foreign secretary Douglas Alexander have lost their seats to the SNP. Ed Miliband said it had been a "difficult and disappointing" night for Labour Party. The leader of the Liberal Democrats Nick Clegg announced it had been a "cruel and punishing night" for his party and he would make a statement later.
