Ukraine and Georgia Promise to Liberalize the Visa Regime by the End of the Year

The European Commissioner for enlargement negotiations Johannes Hahn said that if Ukraine and Georgia will perform all necessary rules to facilitate visa regime with the European Union, this measure has the opportunity to be recommended by the European Commission at the end of 2015, TASS reports.

"I predict that by the end of the current year on this occasion regarding Georgia and Ukraine, the Commission may issue a positive decision on the condition that will be made certain demands," - said he.

In his turn, during a meeting held on performance of obligations under the visa-free regime from the European Union for citizens of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko announced that Ukraine has fulfilled most of the technical requirements necessary for the introduction of a visa-free regime with the European Union, RIA Novosti reports.

At the meeting it was also noted that most of the technical requirements set forth by European experts, "made wholly or in significant part ".

On May 11, the European Commission published a report on the progress of Georgia and Ukraine to move towards visa liberalization, which considers that both countries are not ready for this. The next evaluation will be given this year in December.
