Armenia Participates in the Session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council

The meeting of Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in a narrow format started in Grodno in Belarus. As the press service of the Russian government informs, the agenda of the meeting includes issues of coordinated industrial policy in the framework of the EEU, ensuring macroeconomic and financial stability, the formation of a single market for services, the development of relations with foreign countries and international organizations.

The EEU is international economic integration union, created on the basis of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space and is functioning from January 1 of this year. Now the EEU members are Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Intergovernmental Council is a body of the Union, which ensures the implementation and monitoring of the execution of the Agreement and the decisions of the High Council at the level of presidents, gives orders of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), as well as exercises other powers provided by the Treaty and international agreements in the framework of the Union.

Armenia is represented at a meeting by the Prime Minister of the country Hovik Abrahamyan.
