European Universities Chess Championship in Armenia
European Universities Chess Championship for the first time will be held in Yerevan, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia.
To participate in the Chess Championship, which will take place on October 6-11, applications are received from 30 teams of 15 countries. In the championship Armenia will be presented by three male and female teams.
The Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan held a working meeting at which the members of the organizing committee informed about the preparations for the championship. "We must do everything possible so as the young people, who will arrive in Armenia to participate in the championship, feel they are in a chess superpower," the Minister said.
