US Will Not Lift Sanctions on Russia
The United States does not plan to lift sanctions imposed on Russia over its role in the Ukraine conflict in exchange for a greater effort in the fight against the Islamic State, White House spokesperson Josh Earnest said at his daily news conference on Monday.
"I do not envision a scenario in which sanctions relief is offered to Russia in exchange for greater contributions to IS," - Earnest told according to USA Today.
The White House spokesman reiterated that sanctions against Russia must remain in place until full implementation of the Minsk agreements is achieved.
