Pope Francis Promised to Visit Armenia

Pope Francis, who on Monday evening returned to the Vatican from his first trip to African countries, said that his next foreign travel will be to Mexico.

"If all goes well, the next trip will be in Mexico, but the date has not been determined," the pontiff said during a conversation with journalists on the board of the aircraft, RIA Novosti reports.

Francis also confirmed that he has received an invitation to visit Armenia. "I promised it to three patriarchs. The promise is there, but I do not know whether it will be possible to carry out,"  he said.

The pontiff, who in two weeks will celebrate his 79 years, noted that he intends to visit those countries that have never been visited the Pope before.
