US Armenian Bar Association launched a Legal Mission for the International Recognition of NKR

The Governing Council of the Armenian Bar Association of the USA, composed of 17 members, recently adopted a resolution in which it noted that the official policy of the organization is to promote  the international recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic as an independent and sovereign state, tert.am reports referring to The Armenian Weekly.

Stressing the commitment of the Association in the issue of self-determination of the citizens of Artsakh, the Governing Council adopted another resolution, for the first time of its 26 years of existence changing the the text of the mission, and noted that the fundamental purpose of the organization is to take all steps, in accordance with international law, to ensure the recognition of independence of the Republic of Artsakh, and to protect people's right to self-determination of the Artsakh Republic.

On the occasion of the adoption of the historic resolution, the Chairman of the Armenian Bar Association of the USA (ABA) Harry Tigranian said: "Members of the Armenian Bar Association vow to stand shoulder to shoulder with their brothers and sisters in Artsakh, and offer their legal expertise in achieving international recognition of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Artsakh Republic. We call on the Armenian organizations around the world to join forces. "
