Ministry of Health: Penetration of Zika Virus to Armenia is not Excluded

Armenia's Ministry of Health does not exclude the probability of penetration of Zika virus into the country. The issue was discussed on Wednesday at a meeting of the Minister of Health of Armenia Armen Muradyan with leading and chief epidemiologists, virologists and immunologists of the Republic, Novosti Armenia informs.
"Experts pointed out that the type of mosquitoes Aedes aegypti, which are carriers of the virus Zika, is not found in Armenia, however, travelers to countries in Central and South America should be informed. Intrusion cases are not excluded," the report says.
