The Turkish military has managed to successfully accomplish the operation against Kurdish fighters in Cizre town, in the southern Şırnak Province of the country, Reuters reports citing to the Turkish Minister of the Interior Efkan Ala. However, as the very Turkish official informed in Cizre town the curfew is going to continue for certain time.

The Turkish government has declared a curfew in the district of Sur in Diyarbakır, in Cizre and Silopi of Şırnak province, as well as in number of districts of Mardin province since December 14 of 2015. With the exception of Cizre, special operations continue in other provinces. The anti-terrorist operations started in the southeastern part of the country in July of 2015.

According to the data of the Turkish military main headquarter, as a result of the operations by the  Turkish military  more than 700 fighters of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) have been killed, RT reports. As a result of street clashes in Diarbekir approximately 23 people were killed.

Pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party as well as many human right organizations insist that during the operations by the Turkish government hundreds of peaceful residents were killed. Particularly according to the data of Amnesty International approximately 150 peaceful residents were killed, including women and children. The Human Rights Foundation of Turkey informs about 198 peaceful residents killed. About 200 residents in the Turkish southeastern provinces were forced to leave their houses.

The Turkish government however categorically rejects any kind of criticism or accusation. The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, even did not hesitate to call those scientists betrayers who turned to him with the demand to stop violence in the southeastern provinces of the country. The other day the office of the Turkish Parliament’s spokesman refused to accept the suggestion of the pro-Kurdish party to examine murder cases in Cizre, Today’s Zaman reports.

Daily Sabah informs that according to the new project of the government 15 centers of the Police and military are to open to exercise permanent control on the members of the team conducting special operations in Silopi, Cizre and Sur.

During these months the Turkish government declared about tens of “security zones” and curfews in southeastern provinces of the country. The human right organization periodically alarm that the situation in these zones is not secure; the people’s right of movement is banned. In many cases people even are not able to leave their houses to get food. The entry of media to these provinces is  also banned, this the reason why there is no information on the real situation and victims.
