A referendum on joining South Ossetia to Russia will be held and will be held in a special form. This was declared by the President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov, TASS reports.
"This year we intend to continue consultations with the Russian side on the issue of holding a referendum. Realizing the complexity and sensitivity of the issue, and not wanting to create for our strategic partner complications in the international arena, I believe that the referendum should be held in a special form. We consider the possibility of putting for vote inclusion of a separate rule in the text of our Constitution, that allows the President of the Republic of South Ossetia to appeal to the Russian Federation with a proposal for the adoption of South Ossetia into the Russian Federation as a new entity," Tibilov said.
