Turkish Women May be Allowed to Serve in the Army

Turkish Ministry of Defense and the General Staff are developing a package of reforms, according to which women can voluntarily serve in the armed forces as soldiers, haqqin.az reports with reference to Vatan newspaper.
Currently women can voluntarily serve in Austria, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, Lithuania and Greece. In 2015 Norway adopted a law under which women can be called for military service. In Israel, it is compulsory for women to serve for two years.
