Ban Ki-moon Supports Paternal Leave
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, marking the International Day of Families on May 15 called Governments to support the crucial role of families in all their diverse forms. Particularly, he noted that this may contribute to paternal leave, UN News Center reports.
"Governments must support the crucial role of families in all their diverse forms. They should provide access to reproductive health services so that parents can decide on the timing and size of their families'', said the UN Secretary-General, adding that maternal health care and paternal leave are also vital to enable parents to give their newborns the best possible start in life.
