USA Criticised Turkey

According to Voice of America, a reporter has reminded John Kirby, the Spokesperson for US State Department that warrants have been issued for arrest of approximately 100 journalists and asked “Do you think that this many journalists could attended to coup attempt?” in daily press briefing.

Kirby has stated that they have talked earlier about of concerns about this sort of situations in Turkey and condition of press freedom, and said “I think we’d seen this as a continuation of a troubling trend in Turkey where official bodies, law enforcement and jurisdiction, are being used to discourage legitimate political discourse.”

Kirby who said they were condemning the coup attempt, added that they called out to be tempered, adhere to the superiority of law and democratic principles.
