Mexico's President Called Trump a Threat to his Country
Mexico's President Enrique Pena Nieto called Donald Trump a threat to his country.
"His policy stances could represent a huge threat to Mexico, and I am not prepared to keep my arms crossed and do nothing," Pena Nieto said. "That risk, that threat, must be confronted. I told him that is not the way to build a mutually beneficial relationship for both nations,’’ Reuters reports.
Earlier an informal meeting between Trump and Enrique Pena Nieto was held in Mexico. During the joint press conference, Trump said that they discussed the issue of construction of the wall on the border, but haven’t discussed at whose expense it will be conducted.
"Who pays for the wall? We didn't discuss," Trump had said when asked by a reporter during a news conference following their meeting in Mexico City. "We did discuss the wall. We didn't discuss payment of the wall. That'll be for a later date."
But Pena Nieto later claimed the two had discussed the wall and who would pay for it - and he had "made it clear" to Trump it wouldn't be Mexico, CNN reports.
