Three Positive Indexes Recorded in the Economy of Armenia During 2016: Aram Safaryan
Three positive indexes have been recorded in the economy of Armenia during 2016 and three of them are connected with the EAEU. This was declared by the Chairman of NGO "Integration and development" Aram Safaryan in a press conference in "Novosti-Armenia" media center.
"The first is the increase of volume of export from Armenia to Russia. For the first time this year the export of Armenian Agricultural products to Russia have exceeded 87 percent. Russian experts think that as Russia-West sanction war will continue in 2017, Russian market will still be in need of agricultural products. Thus the volume of exports from Armenia to Russia will increase in 2017. The second is the increase of the volume of industry during the past 10 months as compared to the last year. The third is the increase of the number of services. The EAEU has declared free move of capital, people, goods and services and in fact we are able to find our place in these processes," Safaryan mentioned.
At the same time, according to the expert, the new Government of Armenia gives hopes for further developments of Armenia’s economy in 2017. However, in this regard he mentioned that it will be possible to ensure economic development, if as a result of 2017 parliamentary elections the political stability in the country is not shattered.
"At the same time it is necessary that the Armenian Government takes the initiative and more actively participates in the economic life. However, it is important that the Government had the role of entrepreneur and not of regulator," Safaryan said.
