AP

Karabakh conflict without a doubt has no military solution. This was declared by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) Hassan Rouhani at a press statement in Yerevan, following the high-level negotiations held between Armenian and Iranian official delegations. He expressed a desire to see a negotiated settlement to the conflict. Panorama.am informs.

"Armenia and Azerbaijan are friendly states to us. We look forward to seeing a stable peace in the region to the benefit of the entire region," he said.

The Iranian President added that with his Armenian counterpart he has also talked about security issues in the region.

"Both states have exerted certain efforts for the regional security. We should partner along with all states in this sphere to take efficient measures in combating terrorism," President Rouhani emphasized.

According to Rouhani, Iraq and Syria are nowadays facing core issues of terrorism, and that the humanitarian matters in the region should be addressed on the basis of a consensus to reach productive partnership there as well.
