US Reviewing Relations with Iran for Israel and Saudi Arabia

A top military commander in Iran said that his country is ready for a strong reply if the US underestimates Iran’s defensive capabilities, Middle East Observer reports. "The enemy should not be mistaken in its assessments, and it will receive a strong slap in the face if it does make such a mistake," said General Mohammad Pakpour after the Revolutionary Guards concluded three days of exercises with rockets, artillery, tanks, and helicopters. And this was declared weeks after Trump warned that he had put Tehran "on notice" over the missile launch.

After assuming presidential powers Trump moved quickly to fulfill its campaign promise. So the US expanded the list of sanctions against Iran in response to the testing of balestic missiles by Tehran. Trump declared sanctions on 25 individuals and companies connected to Iran’s ballistic missile program and those providing support to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force. However, the UN resolutions don’t prohibit Iran to test balestic missiles, but urge to avoid it. Trump also included Iran in the list of countries which citizens are prohibited from entering the US. As recently White House spokesman Sean Spicer explained, Trump's decision is not directed against Muslims, but against countries.

Trump’s anti-Iranian policy finds its expression also in the statements made by American officials. Of course, all this found its reflected on Tehran’s policy. ""We don't respond well to coercion. We don't respond well to sanctions, but we respond very well to mutual respect. We respond very well to arrangements to reach mutually acceptable scenarios," the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said in this regard, bigstory reports.

So the progress of US relations with Iran, which was a result of difficult negotiations by the Obama administration, is not only blocked by the new American administration, but its continuation and different manifestations threaten the regional stability. American policy toward Iran is not only conditioned by the dissatisfaction of Trump and in general Republicans with the nuclear deal, but also by desire of the restoration of relations with Israel and Saudi Arabia. Recently, Washington's relations with these loyal allies in the Middle East were quite worsened because of Iran nuclear deal signed with the Obama administration. Obviously Trump administration doesn’t find it  justified…
