Armenia Proposes Establishing a Joint Import/Export Company in Iran
The regular consultation on the establishment of the temporary free trade area between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Iran was held in Tehran on March 12-14, attended by the representatives of the EAEU member states and the Eurasian Economic Commission. The Armenian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investment Hovhannisyan Azizyan, press service of the ministry reported, Panorama.am reports.
According to the source, during the talks the text of the agreement was discussed with attached list of the goods subject to price benefits.
In the scope of the consultations Armenian Deputy Minister Hovhannes Azizyan met with Ministry of Industries and Mines of Iran Mojtaba Khosrotaji as well as Iranian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ali Akbar Mehrfardi.
A proposal has been made to the Iranian side to establish a joint import/export company to facilitate the export of the goods from Armenia to Iran as well as the export of Iranian products to markets enjoying preferential tariff system with Armenia.
According to the release, the Iranian side has welcomed the idea suggesting to discuss the concrete mechanisms of its implementation.
