Armenia, EU to Launch Common Aviation Area Talks in Late April
Vahan Martirosyan, Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia, had a bilateral meeting with Ms. Violeta Bulc, European Commissioner for Transport, in the framework of the Regional Transport Investment Conference, held in the 23-24th of March, in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Upon expressing his gratitude to the Commissioner, Minister Vahan Martirosyan mentioned that the first stage of negotiations between the EU Commission and Armenia would start at the end of April which would ensure Armenia’s association to the European Common Aviation Area Agreement. The Commissioner Violeta Bulc gave a positive assessment to the start of the negotiations and confirmed that the Agreement would soon be signed.
Upon discussing other topics of interest, special attention was paid to the problems related to the digitization of transport sector and road traffic safety, which are also of high importance to the European Union.
During the meeting Minister Vahan Martirosyan proposed to arrange a conference on regional transport communication in Yerevan and invited Ms. Violeta Bulc to Armenia.
