Macron Was Inagurated as a President

Centrist Emmanuel Macron has taken power as president of France in a sumptuous inauguration ceremony in the Elysee Palace presidential residence in Paris following his May 7 election victory, sky News reports.
After arriving for the ceremony on Sunday at the 18th century palace, Macron, 39, a former investment banker and economy minister, held a private meeting with outgoing Socialist President Francois Hollande on state affairs which included the transfer of access to France's nuclear missile launch codes.
Outside the Elysee, few dozen supporters waved French tricolour and European blue flags at the arrival of the new president.
Following the ceremony and military honours at the Elysee palace, Macron goes to the Tomb of the Unknown soldier, at the Arc de Triomphe at the top of the Champs-Elysees Avenue, a tradition followed by all heads of states in France's modern history.
