Kadyrov Responds to Georgian TV Host Who Insulted Putin

The leader of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, bad-mouthed the TV host of Rustavi 2 channel, George Gabunia, who had previously insulted Russian President Vladimir Putin, crimerussia.com reports.

Kadyrov called on to initiate a criminal case against the journalist “for statements insulting the highest official of Russia and affecting the honor and dignity of a Russian citizen.” In addition, according to Kadyrov, it is necessary “to introduce the toughest sanctions against the country that do not affect Georgian citizens of Russia.”

“In the Caucasus, a man does not say such words even to his relative. Gabunia is a born coward and genderless creature. This is a shame of the Georgian people and Georgia,” Ramzan Kadyrov wrote on his Telegram-channel.

The head of Chechnya noted that the management of the TV channel was behind Gabunia’s speech. “Otherwise, Gabunia would be disconnected from the live broadcast in the very first seconds,” Kadyrov writes. At the end of the post, the Chechen leader advised the journalist to “hide behind the seven fences,” “for the very first comer can do what he deserves”.

On July 7, at the beginning of the Postscript program, Gabunia delivered a minute speech consisting of foul language against the President of the Russian Federation. The Russians were called slaves. The management of the TV channel suspended the host from work for two months. Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili and CEO of Rustavi 2 condemned Gabunia’s act.
