Environmentalists conduct protest action in front of government building against Amulsar exploitation
Environmentalist gathered today in front of government building protesting against the exploitation of Amulsar.
The action is followed with the publication of expert conclusion which says that the exploitation of the mine will cause no harm to Jermuk waters and Sevan.
On August 14 head of department of Investigative Service Yura Ivanyan said at a press conference that there are no grounds for criminal persecution against Lydian Armenia company, stressing that it has not hidden any information regarding the harm the exploitation may cause to the environment.
The activists though claim that the public has been presented incomplete information. Representative of Pan-Armenian Environmental Front Levon Galstyan stated that the authors of the expert conclusion failed to answer the question whether the open exploitation of Amulsar is safe or not, the conclusion is incomplete.
“This is the way the expert group wrote in the conclusion. Now question rises if it is impossible to answer the question, if these analyses are not trustworthy, how the Investigative Committee official declares publicly that there are no issues,” Galstyan said.
