Mercedes-Benz vs. Audi

Mercedes-Benz is going to sell more compact cars in India’s premium car market. Mercedes launched a new version of its compact car – the B-Class. The company plans to increase sales of the model by 50% in 2015. The share in Indian’s luxury market of such compact cars is about 25%, but the company is planning to rise the share up to 50% by 2022.

Mercedes competes with Volkswagen-owned Audi in the market. It sold 10,201 cars in India last year, which is 650 less car than Audi. As a competitor Audi is planning to launch 10 models in 2015. A consultant of the auto market estimated that, although Audi has always been very aggressive in the market, Mercedes’ new compact car is on the right way to meet the battle with Audi.
