People in Azerbaijan Protest Against the Authorities

In Baku, on March 15 the opposition organized a protest in which 4-5 thousand people participated. The protests were sanctioned by the authorities, contact.az reports.

The main reason of the protest was the high level of corruption of the authorities and the hard social situation of the citizens. The fact that 8 mln manat form budget of 19 mln manat is going to be allocated for the European Games caused the dissatisfaction of the Azerbaijanis. The demonstrators were particularly dissatisfied by the fact that the Azerbaijani authorities are going to pay for the expenses of all delegations participating in the Games, among them the expenses of the Armenian delegation.
